Jeremy's NFL Rankings BCS Style: Week 2

What if the NFL ran a NCAA style of polling to decide who the best teams were to play in a championship game?

Well, here are the rankings after Week 2

1. San Francisco 49ers (23)
#1...for now.

2. Atlanta Falcons (5)
Beat the #1 team. They jump up to #2.

3. Houston Texans (1)
They could be a Superbowl team or a complete bust.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (1)
Keep their mouths shut, keep Vick healthy and in the pocket, now you're talking.

5. Denver Broncos
Manning looked ugly, but against a top team. Denver stays in the Top 5.

The rest of the field

6. Steelers
7. Packers
8. Ravens
9. Patriots
10. Giants
11. Bears
12. Cardinals
13. Panthers
14. Lions
15. Chargers
16. Buccaneers
17. Redskins
18. Cowboys
19. Jets
20. Saints
21. Bengals

24. Colts
25. Dolphins

Jeremy's NFL Rankings BCS Style- Week 1

What if the NFL ran a NCAA style of polling to decide who the best teams were to play in a championship game?

Well, here are the rankings after Week 1

1. Denver Broncos (17)
Manning is back. He looks ready to reclaim his spot as one of 4 elite QBs in the league. The defense can only improve, but the whole offense looks like it will be one of the best. The biggest concern is the offensive line, one bad hit to Manning, kiss any chances good-bye. Best team of Week 1 vs. an elite opponent.

2. San Francisco 49ers (7)
Alex Smith is the only concern for this star-studded team, if he stays average, they can win it all. Stay smart and focused, a lot of immature players...and their coach as well.

3. Baltimore Ravens (4)
Solid performance, an odd team to judge, but still earned enough to be at 3.

4. New England Patriots (2)
Are very close to Baltimore, maybe even better, but the Ravens get the upper hand for playing a better team. Pat's secondary still needs some work, as well as executing plays on both sides of the ball.

5. Houston Texans
This year's dark horse with a very good chance to become a contender. Would be higher if not for a slow start against Miami, but still show they can be a deadly force.

The rest of the field

6. Steelers
7. Falcons
8. Bears
9. Giants
10. Packers
11. Saints
12. Eagles
13. Lions
14. Buccaneers
15. Redskins
16. Chargers
17. Cowboys
18. Panthers
19. Jets
20. Bengals
21. Cardinals
22. Vikings
23. Rams
24. Chiefs
25. Jags
26. Colts
27. Seahawks
28. Raiders
29. Browns
30. Titans
31. Dolphins
32. Bills

What to watch for Week 2...

GAME OF THE WEEK: #1 Broncos @ #7 Falcons

"DO SOMETHING ELSE" GAME OF THE WEEK: #28 Raiders @ #31 Dolphins

CLOSE MATCH-UP OF THE WEEK: #8 Bears @ #10 Packers

JEREMY'S PICK: #3 Ravens @ #12 Eagles

What the Boston Celtics could look like after the off-season...

2012 NBA Draft:
Dream situation for the Boston Celtics would be to use both of their draft picks this year, and getting Royce White and Jared Sullinger. White, Small Forward from Iowa State, would be a solid replacement for Paul Pierce once he departs. He is a Top-10 talent, and a future superstar if he can control his odd anxiety problems. Sullinger, Power Forward out of Ohio State, looks to be one of the best forwards in the whole draft, but has had his stock fall due to back problems. If healthy, Sullinger is a first year starter and Royce as well if the Celtics were to lose Pierce.

Clean House! The Celtics should rebuild around Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo. That means only six players on the current roster. Here is a list of targets for the Celtics in no order:

-Leandro Barbosa, SG
-Chauncey Billups, PG
-Juwan Howard, PF
-Spencer Hawes, C
-Michael Redd, SG
-Jonny Flynn, PG
-Josh Howard, SF

Projected Roster 2012-2013:

C-
Spencer Hawes
PF- Jared Sullinger
SF- Paul Pierce
SG- Avery Bradley
PG- Rajon Rondo
- Royce White, SF
- Jujuan Johnson, PF
- E'Twaun Moore, SG
- Sean Williams, PF-C
- Jonny Flynn, PG
- Leandro Barbosa, SG
- Juwaun Howard, PF

Top 5 Destinations for Peyton Manning

5. Houston Texans
Manning+Andre Johnson = perfection

4. Oakland Raiders
They are crazy enough to pay a record deal.

3. Dallas Cowboys
Let's accept that Romo will never win anything in the NFL, make a splash Dallas.

2. Kansas City Chiefs
Just simple, would make sense, and he could win games out west.

1. Miami Dolphins
Perfect weather, a team he can improve, plus he can be the man to prevent Tom Brady from getting another ring. Would make the NFL more entertaining.

Top 5 Players in sports that you DON"T want on your team

By Jeremy Hayes

The main factor on this list is if the athlete is overrated to begin with...

5. Lebron James, Miami Heat

Would have him higher, but his MVP's give him a little more value, still causes harm to his team.

4. Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Well, all the things Romo has done...oh, wait...

3.Chad Ocho Cinco, New England Patriots

Lot of hype, little production.

 2. Terrell Owens, IFL

Produces well, but will always be the biggest diva in sports.

 1. Allen Iverson, Talking about the game this time, and not practice

One of the best rants, but the most overrated player in sports today. All that he is, is a name, nothing more.

Foul! Fraud! Fail! Ryan Braun wins first appeal ever in MLB

By Jeremy Hayes

Major League Baseball is in trouble. Unless Braun has a true reason to say why he was tested positive in a drug test, MLB is the worst it has ever been. Before we had the MLB tainted by players and the use of steroids, but now there is a good chance that we will have players get away with it. Before last night, people could argue that the MLB was partly tainted, but now players accused can get away with it.

Now, not saying Braun is guilty, but this is a bad sign for the future of baseball. If Braun does not come out and say what the cause was, how does that make baseball look? Anyone can make an argument, and because of the new rules, someone guilty can have someone on their side, and simply win the process. Don't blame FedEx or the people handling the sample. Come out, and explain why the sample was positive.

Top 5: Patriot's Free Agent Targets

5. Mario Williams, DE/OLB, (HOU)
    This is a reach...

4. Mike Tolbert, HB, (SD)
Only if they do not resign Green-Ellis.

3. Brandon Lloyd, WR, (STL)
    Safe pick up at WR.

2. Steve Johnson, WR, (Buff)
Like Welker, "if you can't beat him, sign him..." Sounds crazy, but will drop less, and only get better with Tom Brady.

1. DaShon Goldson, S, (SF)
This will end the secondary woes.

ESPN's offensive headline does not help Jeremy Lin's NBA journey

By Jeremy Hayes

Jeremy Lin has really become the face of the NBA's popularity this past month, he is the big name ticket seller that franchises dream about. For three hours yesterday, before being removed, ESPN released a headline about the Knicks loss titled "Chink in the armour." This of course was a racial slur against Asian-American Jeremy Lin, and this just proves that the press can hype a player while he is doing well and do so by emphasizing his race or religious views (Tim Tebow).

It is insulting that we live in a society where a player who is not African-American gets attention because of the color of his skin. It is 2012, let us act mature about athletes and not judge them by the way they look. People are all over Lin's popularity, but why is it no one talks about Maria Sharapova's popularity as the "hot" tennis player, Danica Patrick being a female racer, or the Klitschko brothers being white champions of heavyweight boxing. The world needs to stop judging people on sex and race, why can't Jeremy Lin the "great Asian basketball player" be Jeremy Lin "great basketball player?"

Patriot's Free Agency: Why a 49er is the most valuable Free Agent

By Jeremy Hayes

With a few small holes to fill for the Conference Champion New England Patriots, the man who is the biggest target is 49er safety Dashon Goldson. Goldson was a key player during San Fransisco's season last year, all he does is make plays when they matter, which is something New England's secondary lacks. Bill Belichick made an attempt and even had Goldson work out with the Patriots, but then Goldson re-signed with the 49ers. Save the draft picks, and get Goldson, and draft a solid pass-rusher.

Goldson is a great tackler and a solid man in coverage. Patrick Chung and Goldson in the secondary will make teams rethink about a 15 yard pass or more. Number one priority is to convince him that New England can return to the Superbowl, as well as swaying him away from re-signing with San Fransisco. If the Patriots want to win one more Superbowl before the Brady-Belichick era is over, they have to make a big splash, and that big splash is Dashon Goldson.

Should the Patriots close down the Law Firm?

With BenJarvus Green-Ellis being a Free Agent, should the Pats start thinking of picking up a new running back? If he does not ask for a lot of money, sign him, but if not they will lose a great Patriot. Stevan Ridley might be the starting running back next year, New England should not try to draft one, but pick a cheap free agent up who could be a starter. Right now though, the Patriots need to consider paying the man who never fumbles and always runs hard, Green-Ellis.

LeBron Shames: Back to Cleveland eventually?

LeBron is quite the character. James talked about making a return to Cleveland one day. Really? A man who broke the hearts of Cleveland fans brings up returning, and then takes it back. What is wrong with him!? This is a man who took his "talents" to South Beach, and has proven little as a winner as an individual. LeBron James wants a ring, but is not willing to work for it. James is with out a doubt the most overrated player in sports right now. A man who can not lead a team is talking about a former team and trying to win one for them. Win one for yourself first! Come on, man!

Patriots eyeing Steeler Mike Wallace...?
